Winter Walks

This painting is of part of the trail in the Timberlake Community here in Southlake. Walking the trail provided a moment of peace and sanity. A simple walk in nature, hearing the birds, watching the ducks, the squirrels even witnessing the occasional armadillo and turtle cross the trail was exactly what I needed. We'd just arrived in the US when the pandemic hit and I was worried about how things would evolve here and overseas. I would walk this trail with my dog and it was beautiful to see how the plants and trees changed throughout the seasons. There was something magical about the winter when the branches are bare, intertwined and stretching up to the sky. The leaves are gone but they are just waiting for the seasons to change and new life to start all over again.
